Off Sick
The entity know as "Ruth" (or "Pritch" in some lower circles), is currently off sick due to an excessive workload, lack of sleep and low motivation. However, it is felt by the management that anyone foolish enough to be entertained by her various witterings, might also wish to know how things have been going for her. This article has been designed to provide adequate information about "Ruth" and her current exploits, without causing any disturbance or untoward questions. I beg you to forgive the generalisations or inaccuracies that might arise from this requirement. Happy Reading.
The Management
The past few weeks have indeed been eventful for "Ruth". The upgrade status of "single" to "in a relationship" has probably been the most significan development that people may wish to hear about. There are various sources that attribute rediculous grinning, excessive exhuberance and unexplained uphoria to this event. However, despite this, the upgrade has not taken up a significant portion of time due to other demands. The management suspects that the distance is really not helping, but they are too polite to say.
The transfer to music has also prompted much uncharacteristic glee withing the daily routine of "Ruth. She has repeatedly vanished from breaktime socialising and evening banter to read or play or even draw. The results of this are not always beneficial for all, but the frequency of the occurance would indicate a certain degree of pleasure is obtained from these less socially acceptable alternatives to conversation.
She has also missed every lunch registration for 2 weeks... but that is for a completely different reason.
Time has also been given over to performing a very silly song (in a very silly skirt) in a concert for a very silly audience. One might question the sense of this, but (to quote a reply) "Growing old is required, growing up is optional". Although this is not strictly a true statement, the management feels it explains the abnomality in the situation.
Games has seen Ruth helping out with climbing. Sometimes this means shouting at year 10s, but fortunately most of the time this is just an oportunity to play add on / racing with the other helper, and otherwise enjoy life - for 2 hours on a Tuesday afternoon. The prospects of a lifeguarding course (and kayaking after half term) are also highly interesting and will be expanded upon further at a later date. Ruth has also been seen cycling more than usual, but she has not yet visited the gym again. It is believed she will wait until the stress of work becomes too excessive, and then take it out on her quads again.
Work itself is somewhat of a confuson zone. It is there. There is much of it. She is handing it all in. In the gap between the deadline and the point ast which the teacher gets annoeyed. Ironically, the first prep handed in early has been lost by the teacher, so she wont try this approach again in a hurry. The management feel that most of the problem is a mounting pile of catch-up work which is tedious and often misleading. It is hoped that this weekend will see a relief to that burden.
The psychiatrists report on "Ruth" is obviously not available for public appraisal, however it has been leaked that at the moment she is not 100% either physically or emotionally, but coping very well and definitely on the rebound. "We believe that sleep and a little time to herself will do the world of good, and we are taking steps to ensure this".
With only one week left of the term it is difficult to plan far ahead. The 6th form festival will provide much entertainment and hopefully good fun. Interviews are pending for gap year placements, whilst essays need to be written for Cambridge Applications. Maths lessons will finish very soon leaving more time for constructive work. "Ruth"'s book will also be finished very soon - though probably not tonight. She hopes to spend half term catching up, doing music, doing more music and visiting friends.
xXx
